Nothing else like it.
I rarely, if ever, review anything. I literally have 0 reviews despite having bought 100’s of things on amazon in the past 8 years. But since this doesn’t have any reviews in India, I decided to post one myself, as I feel this product really does deserve praise so a potential buyer is able to make the right decision. It’s an older model laptop, the processor generation tells you it’s from ca. 2014. This seller is in the business of bulk buying corporate surplus laptops, refurbishing and reselling them. So depending on your luck, you may get one with more or less wear on it.I’ve bought 3 of these for my business over the course of last 6 months, with the final purchase being for my own personal use. Each came with some physical wear on it, which is fine. 2 had minor dents which is really not a problem. It’s bulky, it’s heavy and it’s super sturdy, which is perfect for me. I’ve had about a dozen laptops in my household/business, and every single one of them had its hinges broken/come loose long before their performance saw any kind of a drop, which has taught me the importance of all metal body and frame, which this is. It is an all metal construction with an all metal internal chassis, which makes it very durable and resistant to frame twisting when held unevenly. This also means it can hold up to abuse quite well, hence the aforementioned dents only being minor. The processor holds up tremendously well for its age and the wear I am assuming it’s seen. If you didn’t know already, you could easily confuse it for a recent gen i5. I have an i5 10400F, which barely outbenchmarks this i7. The graphics are actually K1100M, not 2100, which is not a big deal, it’s not exactly a gaming platform, so don’t expect it to be one.The display might have some visible signs of wear. I’m assuming these laptops have all come from a manufacturing firm, where the users were hard on them. The chassis reeks of motor oil and machine shop smell for a few days initially, LOL. The keyboard has an old school tactile feel to it. Deep, satisfying presses without any keyboard bending/depression, the way things used to be!All kinds of connection ports are provided. If you can think it, it has it. So no problems there whatsoever. Most modern laptops don’t come with half as many ports. All in all, if you’re tired of flimsy plastic body thin laptops that break long before they start slowing down, want decent performance, which when paired with 32 gigs of ram is an absolute breeze, all for a decent price, go for it. Now this thing costs around 26k as of now, but personally, I have been hard pressed to find anything that fits my application better than these even for 150k, which is really saying something. A Dell Precision model from ~2022 will easily cost more than 250k and still not be a quarter as sturdy, and just a fraction faster computationally. They really don’t make them like this anymore. If you ask me, this product is not a deal, it’s an absolute steal if what it has to offer is what you’re looking for.The seller adds ram, replaces the battery and puts in a consistent ssd as part of the refurbishing process, so the battery is new enough, in “excellent health” in the BIOS and lasts a reasonable amount of time. The speakers are quite loud, without any problems, and the sound quality, while decent enough, is nothing to write home about.

The Dell I received appeared brand new. I was more than pleasantly surprised at the hefty, well built laptop. Unfortunately, the computer box was mislabeled so I got the wrong amount of memory and a hard drive instead of the SSD. I was ticked off….less than 3 days later I have everything I wanted. The customer service was spectacular! When the time comes I’ll be buying from them again, maybe sooner than my wife wants me to.I dug into the guts a bit (had to to replace the HDD for the SDD, and upgraded the memory that they sent to me). There were some slight signs to indicate this was a used computer (dust, for example), but not much at all. If it was used much they did a great job of cleaning it up. I ran a full diagnostic on the computer on boot up after replacing the SDD and RAM, and everything passed just fine. No issues at all.As for the computer’s performance, this is an Intel i7 quad core. 32GB of RAM (which is the max for this i7 chip), so really pretty sweet. This appears to be very fast and from what I see of my 10 year old, will run any of the Roblox and Steam games. Some of the Steam programs need a fast computer and this handles it no problem. Haven’t loaded more graphics-intensive yet and will update when I do.The graphics is the standard intel unless you hook it up to a separate monitor, in which case you can use the nVidia. I haven’t done that yet so no comment on it, but diagnostics show it is loaded and functional.I’ll buy from this shop again before I ever go buy a new computer again. Those days are over; wish I had found them sooner.

I like the idea of buying a restored computer and this was the type and model I really wanted. The computer arrived in a timely fashion, looked almost like new, and turned on as expected, but the keyboard was completely dead. A customer service representative gave me a number to call. The number turned out to be for Dell and the representative there laughed at the idea that they could assist me with a second-hand computer more than six years out of warranty. They offered to send a tech at my expense, but advised that I should return the computer instead.Amazon customer service was quick and courteous to remove the software we had waiting to add to the computer, but getting the information for the computer itself was a bit difficult. We did get instructions in an email, as well as a mailing label, but the label was not prepaid, so returning the computer cost over $30.00.I would not advise against a restored computer; the idea is a good one. Just be prepared for disappointment and unexpected costs.

It’s an older PC, so it isn’t sexy by any means. It’s bulky, it’s heavy, and it’s a beast.BUT….for $600, it’s performance rivals anything out there that costs thousands of dollars.I use it for presentation software at church. It handles Propresenter flawlessly, running one HDMI output, one VGA to HDMI, one NDI over LAN, and the integrated display. Motion background graphics are not a problem. This thing does everything I need it to do.Came quick, great packaging. Last evening, I noticed that the “skin” was peeling off on the top cover bezel. I pulled it off, to find out that it appears to have an aftermarket skin on it….which is actually a pretty cool bonus. I’m not sure if Dell produced these with the skins, but after finding out that you can order skins, I could only assume that it was aftermarket. Now I’m considering replacing the skin as well…only the small strip on the front of the cover came off.Seriously, though, if you need a high performance PC for anything, I would highly suggest this one. For a fraction of the price, you’ll get a dependable machine. For those that claim that it doesn’t come with backlit keyboard, press Fn, and arrow key right…that’s how you turn it on….I didn’t know either, until I googled it.EDIT:OK, so I must now give an update to my review. It’s now April 3rd, 2021. Nearly 10 months after purchase. Well, a few months ago, the laptop started having startup issues…various ones, it would boot, but there were errors, I was able to get into the BIOS and correct them, and it began working as well as it had before. Then, tonight. I was watching a Youtube video, and happened to doze off. The laptop entered sleep mode as well. When I woke, and tried to wake up the laptop, it wouldn’t. The lights kept blinking, and the fans would turn, then it would repeat the process over and over again.I held the power button until it turned off, but I still wasn’t able to get it to turn back on. Lights would come on, etc, but nothing happened. So, naturally, I googled it. I found articles and videos about clearing static charge. You remove the battery and cable, hold the power button for 30 seconds to a minute, depending on the article. Then, when you reinstall the battery and the cable, it should turn on as normal. Well, mine didn’t. I also have a dock for it, which helped me when I had the first issue months back, so that I could at least see a screen. Today, though. I get nothing.Watched other youtube issues, and read numerous articles to see what else I could do. I attempted to reset the CMOS by disconnecting the internal battery. I cleaned the crap out of the inside of it. I’ve confirmed that the power from my charger as well as the dock are sufficient and consistent. All articles and videos have suggested that I now have a bad motherboard.$700 seemed like a really good deal 10 months ago….but now, it seems that I paid $700 for what can now be categorized as a very large paperweight. I’ve attempted to contact the seller. I doubt they will respond because I’m obviously outside of the 90 BS warranty period. I’m hopeful that they can assist me in some way. My only decision now is, do I pay to get it repaired, or do I buy another laptop.Regardless, I’m keeping this review up. I apologize in advance to the 6 people that originally found it helpful…I certainly hope that, if you made the purchase and end up with issues months from now, you don’t hold me responsible fro talkling this PC up so much. It WAS really nice, while it was working….straight up workhorse….but then it died.Update 04/10, a week after the PC died.I had contacted the seller, who emailed me a shipping label and asked me to send the PC back to them.I sent it our last Monday, tracking indicated that they received it Thursday….here it is, Saturday, and I’m typing this on my resurrected PC…I AM AMAZED…..as far as my experience….TOP NOTCH CUSTOMER SERVICEUpdate 10/01/2023Since I liked the first PC, I decided to purchase another in 2022. I leave the newer one at church, and use the first one for home and work purposes. It wasn’t until just a few days ago, when I took the first one back to church, and put it beside the second one, that I noticed that the second one had a webcam, where the first one didn’t. Seemed strange enough to me that I thought I should mention it.

I am very pleased with this laptop. It’s bulky but other than that I have nothing bad to say. It’s fast and reliable and it was the best value I found.
